Also you pass near the Esab shop as well
Just stop now, going to need a loan before I set off on this road trip.

Sometimes I am, sometimes I am not.Are you selling the phoenix?!
Sometimes I am, sometimes I am not.
Don't use it much now that I have the 355 but it is a nice standby machine
Don't think it would, not something I would really want to bother messing around with and wouldn't be nearly as nice as a synergic pulse Mig for the Aluminium even if it did work.I know it sounds wrong but could you get a spool gun to fit onto the stealth tig and use that as a back up gun instead??

Carlisle is a good place for man shopping!
Nice my girlfriend lives just out side wigton so i may just have too go have a look there when i next pass by on my way down to visit.
Kill two birds with one stone then....tool use and tool purchase!
I wouldn't as returning to Germany everytime it breaks is enough to put me off even if they give 20 years warranty i wouldn't
Well to give you an idea the decent Stalwherk if there is one are around 699 but the latest parweld xtt212 that's only just come out can be had for 750 so food for thought
Yeah that's the thread that got me thinking, I've thought about a tig for a while but wanted to be able to do aluminium, the sherman made that option more affordable, this stahlwerk is even more affordable though.Have you checked out the sherman 206p ac/dc jasic in disguise thread, its basically jasics welder painted blue and a 3rd the price, with one year warranty instead of 5. I just ordered one off of flea bay for £509 including postage too highland scotland with a pedal.

This sounds like the kit he bought a year ago, used twice and couldn't get on with it. Don't want to buy it and find it's the machine that's useless and put myself off tig welding. I can get it for a try first but seeing as I've never tried tig I wouldn't know if it was decent or not.

I have too admit i looked at the stahlwerks and while they looked ok they just seemed a bit too cheap and cheerful too be worth it.
just checked their site , 7 year warranty ,,, Im tempted to try one of their plasma cutters at that , only need a small one. There are a few here who have the Stahlwerk machines and say they are fine but I have no experience so can't say. I can say about the Sherman however, it is simply the best tig on DC I have used and I am loving it. Granted I have not used high end welders such as EWM/Lorch/Fronius but I have had 2 Parweld machines, a TecArc and a Stealth, so not exactly bargain basement rubbish.
I think @Tangledfeet bought a Stahlwerk plasma, seem to recall he was not totally happy with it but not sure if he got things ironed out or not.just checked their site , 7 year warranty ,,, Im tempted to try one of their plasma cutters at that , only need a small one.
