More thanks to Tupers then for posting the link. I tried my shrinker briefly today and it looks as if it works slightly better than the one I had before. Haven't had the chance to try the stretcher yet, but that's not so important as I can do that bit with a hammer if I need to.
Wow looks like I should have asked for a referal fee for all those units.
I started making this for my estate on Monday. It's the beginnings of the frame for a fold down tail gate. It's made from 5 sections as our folder isn't long enough to do it all in one and I didn't fancy scraping so much metal if I mucked up with the shrinking.
I need to get some hinges and checks straps before I can really go any further but it's looking good so far.
Are these Eastwood shrinkers still coming up on eBay now and again? Can't see any on there at the mo and the link no longer works for me find user name to keep an eye out for em.
Hi l got one off ebay,"spare or repare"didnt realy say what was wrong with it so l took a gamble,£45.
After fannying around with it,the arm on it would jump when pressing down on it,it was jumping off the cam part,so l took it apart and welded some metal onto the cam and buffed down to get the cam back but about 6mm higher, works a treat so l made a stand and foot pedal, stole a spring off the weans trampoline to bring the pedal back up.
