Buying a new Mig

I am going to buy a new Mig and come across the WELDABILITY 200E has anyone come across these before as they look very similar to the Sealey

Any feedback would be appreciated

Been reading a lot on here as regards to different migs, I will be using it for car restoration and I have been looking at 3 different ones

Sealey Supermig 195
Portamig 185
SWP 220

Which one of these would be more suitable and also best value for money

Hi there,

Both the the Portamig and the SWP are fine machines, I personally wouldn't bother with the Sealey. I am biased towards the Portamig having one myself, built in York "Britain" and built like a tank, has a low 15Amps so perfect for thin metal welding, if you are not an expert. There are plenty of reviews on here regarding satisfied Portamig owners to keep you in reading for a while. Good luck!

Like Tonto above there's an outlet locally selling a Weldability 200E and was wondering if there are any opinions on this machine, how does it compare to the Portamig 165 for instance???

I would wait to ring Steve (weldequip) as he's closed for Christmas but I think both swp and portamig are on a better level than the sealey.

All depends on your wants,budget and personal preference really.

Have you considered one of the r -tech type machines?

If buying a portamig you need not be in a rush for it as they are made to order and in some cases they can take a while.

I'm now considering the GYS SmartMIG 162, that looks like it'll do my job and less money. Any opinions on this machine??

Im biased as i own a portamig 185 and i have been very happy with it.

I had a gys smartmig which I sadly had to sell to raise some funds but I will be buying another when finances allow, it's a great little machine which I ran on 0.8mm wire and argosheild on the hobby contract and welded from thin 2cv steel upto prepped 6mm for a repair.

I believe parts are readily available for any repairs also.
