Sorry can't get link to work
what sort bet it wasnt the turret mill. ive got a brigie horizontal mill with the vertical head model 1 es. it can be run of a converter or change the motor to 240v without bother
have u got the table feed working of it with all controlls ? i presume it hast the 2 speed motorHere's a photo.
thats the reason why i said a 240v 3 phase invertor wouldnt run one because the transformer for all the controlls runs on 415 volt.I haven't got a powered table.
The original motor was two speed, with a motor-mounted speed/direction switch.
The inverter will eventually run from the original control panel, at the moment it's just lashed up.
If you are pushed for space with something as large as a bridgeport you would not go wrong with an Arboga, I have an ex college U2508 model & its a superbly made piece of kit that is capable of excellent work.
Built in 3 phase motor means you have to run a phase converter if you dont have 3 phase.
Snap! I've just bought one of those, the older 825 though. If its weight is anything to go by I shall be machining parts for the UK's new nuclear reactor program before long!![]()
Though the Arboga is a dual purpose machine being a Mill / Drill it is very well built & for such a machine is capable of fine accurate work,i havent noticed any problems! It has a small floor footprint & if you are pushed for space is a good choice.
As it was barely run in & cost me nowt but the transport to move it i am more than happy with it!
