It seems a lot cheaper in Austria compared to the UK. But as someone mentioned it would probably be a lot of hassle. There is a place near where I live in Glasgow that sells esab. I might ask them if they will give a cash discount.

If your set on importing there are a number of caddy tig 200i's around the eu (Poland) for only a few quid more than the 700 you want to spend. Much nicer unit with a synergic line (Qset).

For what your planning to do there are many many capable machines at less than 700 quid. For me i like low tech, portsmig, oxford etc. shame they are big, im saving up for one, since this small holding lark has broken me financially.

Go in to your local welding place, many are small buisnesses, and will often put a package yogether for you, wire etc, and end up very competetive. You also build a bit of a relationship if you have issues.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know much about small holdings.

No need to have sympathy for me, im happy as a proverbial pig in poo, just ever time i have spare money, the spread always seems to need many things before a new welder. I cant, complain, i have a useable tiddly wink mig, a quality tig, and inverter little stick set. I just like quality gear, thats all, then i cant blame it for my mistakes.
