buttons on steering wheel don t work?

ok, so press cruise control and light in dash lights up , but does nt work ? neither do the volume buttons for radio . no faults on scan and no warning lights or other faults ,any thoughts .cheers

thanks , no mitsi l200 , clock spring was my first thought but the dash light saying cruise comes on when button pressed giving me impression some signals getting through atleast to the dash ?

Not sure then. A mate just had the one in his misses Seat Ibiza go and it fowled up quite a few functions.
£300+quid to fix it as it had to be "paired to the car" by a dealer.

hence my question , don t wont to be buying new clock springs only to find its some thing else completly ,cheers.

Spray the switch with some contact cleaner and blow dry or drench it in IPA. You've got nothing to lose and a (potential) lot to gain.

Some of the vag group vehicles the steering angle sensor affects abs, traction control and a few other systems and the replacement unit has to be coded to the vehicle for correct operation.

Does you scan tool have a read data stream option to check if inputs from steering wheel buttons etc are being seen

previous mitsi had warning lights, abs traction, and those werre down to the clock spring. no data for reading button inputs.
