I have just got some 0.6mm feed rollers for my mig, the machine is manual or synergic type that is set up for 0.8mm, However trying the 0.6mm wire on manual the wire feed seems far too slow,The machine is a soft start with the wire initially feeding slow and ramping up to speed once the arc is struck. What I want to do is check that the actual feed speed matches what is on the digital display, Is the only way to cut off a predetermined length of wire and weld for 15 seconds and then see how much remains, then multiply the amount used X4 to get the per minute rate, Or is there another way that I am missing.
