butt welding - opinions please

i tried my first butt weld yesturday on my old cortina & was really pleased with the outcome, if i can do more like the 1st il be 1 happy chappy!!! its not as hard as i had thought.. il put some pics up tomorrow to get some feedback the 2nd pic wasnt a butt weld.

Bearing in mind it doesn't look like you've ground them down afterwards (a sure fire way to make things look prettier lol) they don't look bad to me of course I'm no expert either
There's no amount of practice that can prepare you for just getting on with it on the actual car is there.

Yes, agreed, for first attempt at a butt weld on the car that is very good!

grind it down, zinc or etch prime, seam seal, stonechip and paint and it will look very good!

i had been putting off butt welding for being scared to blow holes but after trying i was happy with the result... im thinking i should have tried along time ago before welding/plating over other parts of the car (mayb il go back nd start again) im hoping to have the car welded up before the end of autum ready for some fun in the snow lol probrably end up with some moron twating into it (
