As you may know my Brother emigrated and left me all his collectables, a house full!!!
My son is thinking of renting a cabinet / unit in an antiques centre and flogging some of the better stuff to make a few quid.
Basically you rent the space and they sell it on your behalf, bigger spaces you have to do a few days your self.
So any thoughts top tips?

I know people who do this and it was ok, They now sell on collectors sites and specialist sales, The costs of the cabinets they were renting went up and they got alot of calls with offer prices that were just begging. You can always use google to get rice guides depending on the type of collectables you may find certain items way more value than you realized.

Thanks, I just find some of the small odds and ends just take so long to list photograph etc, many items we have watched on ebay for months and not sold so we haven't listed ours

Sometimes the prices they ask on Ebay are so high they must be chancing a sale or hoping for birthday and Christmas gift buyers, I collect a lot of comics and Lego but also more obscure items, All i can say is whatever you have someone will want it but some collectors have budgets/wives

When wifes aunt died I cleared her home for elderly in-laws and anything which wasn't wanted I took to local auction house for them. Nothing significant - mainly misc pieces of pottery. It fetched a surprising amount.

Most auctions operate on line as well as in the sale room, often simultaneously.
Figure time, effort and selling costs carefully.
