Burnerd Multi-Size Lever operated Collet Chuck

Does anyone have a copy of the instructions / manual for one of these collet chucks and if so would you mind scanning them for me?
I acquired one and a set of EC collets a while back but I have never used it as lacks the bed anchor.
The anchor forms the fixed pivot for the operating lever and is lathe specific.
I would have expected the manufacturer to give some details of this aspect as it's lathe specific.

Thank you @Agroshield, yes I think that those are the correct ones.
I'm slightly surprised that they do not specify the offset from the axial centre line of the chuck to the pivot position.
As they specify a slot rather than a hole for the pivot I guess its location has to move slightly during opening and closing.

The slot perhaps also permits pressure/strain on the lever to be removed once you take your hand off it. The pivot end of the lever could 'relax' a bit from what it is touching when you push it.

Maybe if you find some pictures of the same lathe as your own already wearing one, they might be a guide.

As always there's a story. The one I have is the 'LC15' size so max collet is 1.5" dia. It was originally D1-3 and probably from a Chipmaster or Bantam, but had been adapted to D1-4.
Fortunately none of the D1-3 features had been touched in the modification. It had simply been mounted onto a D1-4 backplate having first removed the D1-3 cam studs.
Unfortunately the bed anchor had been severely hacked about and then attached to a mild steel bar which had been made to fit whatever lathe the previous owner had.
Whilst I do still have a Bantam this will be going onto my CVA (both are D1-3), but I suspect that I might have trouble finding another CVA with one to copy. (@fizzy @Trevanion ??)
I have now found a copy of the dimensions and parts diagram. (attached for anyone else that might need it).

In essence I think I now have all I need to make one. (apart from time!)

I have the original CVA 5C collet nosepiece and drawbar. Also a nice key driven Pratt Burnerd multigrip D1-3.

AIUI, PB had collet chucks called Multisize and Multibore. In the 'C' size (they made A-E), one is MC, the other EC. The box of the older style is red; the newer style a grey-blue. Again, from what little I know, it was only the older ones that had anything other than round (hex) collets available.

On the key-operated chucks, the only difference in the chuck is that the hole in the nose piece is slightly smaller for the older version. It can be embiggened with a CBN insert as the nosecap is hard.

Somewhere on Rotagrip's site is a very big PDF (PrattChuckSpares.pdf) with everything PB in it.

I got one today (D1-6) using the EC collets. Unfortunately, no collets except the one that was in the chuck.

I am wondering if it is worth buying some collets (which are fairly expensive) or if I should just stick with ER40 collets.

Anyway, a few photos.

Overlayed on my Huvema lathe's 4 jaw just to make sure it is D1-6 (the collet chuck uses only 3 pins vs the 6 of the 4 jaw chuck).

I've just put this 160mm PB on a backplate which had higher priority as being more generally useful.

It was an ebay purchase a few years ago. Appears to be brand new. Went for a fraction of the new price.
Complete with key, accuracy certificate, outside jaws, 3 x M10 SHCS and an Allen key. All wrapped in anti-rust paper.
I'd not seen the replaceable jaw guide strips before.

Unfortunately, no collets

Did you get the bed clamp with it & does it fit your lathe?

I guess the operation will be quicker with the lever operation compared to ER type.
And the collets cover a wider range.

Secondly, no, I did not get the bed clamp. However, I am waiting eagerly for you to manufacture your bed clamp, work out all the niggles and then I can copy you

I got excited today when I saw the title of this thread as I thought maybe someone was selling a multi size chuck. They appear to be as rare as hen's teeth. I acquired a large selection of multi size collets a while back but haven't been able to find a chuck, which is a bit frustrating. I have collets in round, hex and a few square. I may be moving them on if there's any interest.

I am looking for some for my big Holbrook D1-8 fitting.
I get confused with all the different types. What is the type called with the springs and sliding fingers inside?
I think D would be the best size although I could probably use an E size collet as well.

I've got lots of size D up to a very useful 2" capacity.

Those may well be PB collets, but they will not fit the chuck in question.

Look well at the one in the picture. It has six individual fingers that are moved inwards as the collet is pushed into the taper by the nose cap. The collet body is ridgid, solid and incompressible.

In your own, there are no fingers and it is the individual segments of the collet itself that move (with the rubber bits in between providing a resisting force. They also appear to be for nominal sizes only. The proper multisize ones have a 1/8" clamping range.

Whether they fit the chuck in question depends on the question.

My collets do have an extended clamping range. For example, collet code d14 is 1.5/8" to 2.3/4" or 1/8" of range.

Unfortunately, it is not the correct type for my chuck.

I think I need EC type collets.

Rotagrip sells them.
