i have a front bumper and wing mirrors that I plan to paint in solid black basecoat and clearcoat. Do I need to use a plastic primer or can I just sand existing paint for a key, prime then basecoat?
If there is existing paint there is no need for plastic primer as you are not painting plastic. If the paint is sound, just the wrong colour, you don't even need to prime really.
the existing paint is 2K and I am going to go BC and Clearcoat is that still ok? So make any repairs, localised primer for repair, scotch remaining bumper, then BC, then clear?
