Just introduced my self and thought I would post some pics of the welding table i just built. This is part of my garage revamp plan. I'm 6'5" and wanted a table that sits at 95cm to match everything else I'm going to build but also raise higher and lower as needed. I looked at various designs and decided on this which I will admit I kind of made up as i went but it does seem to work fine so far
For the top I had a 1200x800 12.5mm plate laser cut with 20mm holes to match my MFT table. Really pleased with how that turned out.
I built the lower frame out of 60x60x3mm box positioning 3 different height setting holes on each leg for 20mm bar to slide in. The machine castors were fixed on some 10mm plate I had.
Top frame was made from 50x50mm box and I installed a car jack to raise the top whilst the Height position pins are moved before being lowered back onto the pins. The jack is not going to be used to take weight permanently just to adjust the pins.
Top on and all painted with a cheap Halfords box bolted on for clamp and consumable storage
Used it in anger at the weekend, the clamps work a treat in the holes, here I'm making a workbench with a smaller version of the same laser cut top on one side to replace my side workbench.
