I've been asked to prepare a quite for a Juliet Balcony with flowers built in as part of the structure.
Sounds like a nice job and not too complex.
but building regs? I am aware of the 100m rule but have also heard on here that this is not as literal as some folk seem to think?
From memory you must not be able to fit a 100mm ball through any gap in the structure.
But I am sure I have seen this ruling clarified on this forum as being not so tight.
There does seem to be much confusion on this one.
just found this nugget
'For buildings where likely users include children under 5 years of age, regulations state that there should not be gaps in balustrades which permit a sphere of 100mm to pass through (this does not apply to the triangle formed by the tread and riser, except in dwellings and flats)'
