Builders eh?

I have a builder working on my workshop, fitting insulation and a dividing door.
He called me first thing today.
Asking if I wanted to go paragliding. I suppose so. it turns out he is instructor rated.
Cue a great day bunking off work, and it looks like I have made a new best mate.

not if the weather was perfect for flying . theres only about 40 realy good days a year so u go for it when u can . theres a lot of no fly days

make sure you resist the urge to just drop everything and go flying all play and no work makes chunko a poor boy, its all to easy to slack off

I do understand discipline. When I am busy I work like a loon and ignore the world.
This where most folk in regular jobs dont understand being self employed.
'it must be great to take time off as you like' is a common observation; followed by why are you working sunday/bankholiday/newyears eve etc etc.
Things have to be done; they get done.
But bunking off is a great privilege and it has to be earned.
but if the wind is W/SW and 7-12mph everything gets forgotten.
I will have a weather station on my workshop roof and one at home.
being able to pop out for an evening flight after work is a luxury I appreciate.

Just be careful he wasnt charging you for the time out flying, theres builders i know who would have no compunction about doing that!

No no he has probably not charged me enough. Once my broadband connection is sorted I will post pictures of what he has done.

im the same with fishing, theres so little time when its perfect that when it is the workshop will be closed up and im of.

Work to live not live to work! That said most self employed guys including me think nothing of a 7 day week or going back to work in the evening meal
