Yep - I got one last week, plus the router table, for £55 the pair. Seems very decent for the money.

Yep - I got one last week, plus the router table, for £55 the pair. Seems very decent for the money.
irrespective of whether you buy a cheap or expensive router, the real cost and quality / finish comes from the bits you use. if it's for hobby use, I'd say better to buy a cheap router, and with the cash you save spend out for the good quality bits to suit. A quality bit on a cheap router (well set up) will still give you a good / better finish that a crap bit on the best router.
The other thing to check is the adjustment, and measurement alignment, cheap usually means poor set ups, nothing that can't be worked round just needs to have more time taken measuring / setting up each time. if you're doing batch work, its less of a ball ache, set up once and work through the run, but for hobby work & one offs it's a pain agreed, but you get nothing for nothing...
