Disagree there, a Stihl hedger blade will take a lot of abuse, theres a lot of people using them every day, boucing the blade off 40mm connifer and they last a reasonable while. The ones we used in rail were not well maintained or sharp, and it wasnt the gearboxes that let go.
I'd have to disagree with your disagreement.
My name's been on the wall of shame a few times with regard longreach's.
When you consider how much use they're getting, then yes, overall, they are relatively sturdy, but the cutter head on the Stihl's could do with being beefed up a bit.





I do, however, expect that my arms should be the weak spot, not the tool.
