As a crawler type off roader it'll be about as much use as t!ts on a bull with a high revving 1l in it, next to no torque at low revs. Stick to rwd only and have some decent high speed fun, a la rage buggies etc, and tell him to forget a 4x4 system

he wants it for hooning around the pay and play places...deep mud, huge puddles and slippery hill climbs

Rwd and a busa motor then, although he my find most of them are more set up for crawling than someone hooning about

there are 2 we go to, one is basically just a farm that we can have freedom of for a tenner a vehicle, the other is a sort of trail the weavs through woods and there is a section that gets altered with a JCB every now and then...gets a bit boring to be honest so mostly just go to the farm

Just remember at those speeds and with that sort of power, accidents are usually quite big

not the one we go to...well, not the farm anyway...the one with the trails advise 'slow driving' and they usually have recovery on site and a medical van too, proper run place etc...the farm is just a farm, you knock the farmers door, give hima tenner and off you go for the day

Sounds like toms farm, air ambulance flight out nearly every week due to tools hammering about on cars, bikes and quads with no real organisation soon saw it shut down

this one has been going a while, only known of 2 accidents, both fairly minor...one guy rolled a vitara and someone else slid down a bank and broke some fingers i think...most guys there are quite sensible, its used by one of the local 4x4 groups quite often and they dont take any messing around

There's still a lot to be said for slapping some tubes over a beetle floorpan when it comes to cheap offroading, scooby conversion if you want more ponies is easy - plus no need to trailer it.
