I have a new Buddy Tig 160, just 4 weeks old. Great welder for a beginner like me, I can't fault it.
I finished welding Saturday evening and forgot to close the tap on my 11 litre Albee cylinder. Sunday midday got ready to do a bit of welding and.............................empty cylinder.
Half an Albee 11 litre cylinder gone overnight. Yes, you could say I was annoyed.
Now, my question, is this normal ? If I Leave the tap open of course it will leak, through the Buddy Tig ???
Or, no it shouldn't leak, meaning I must have a leak at a connection or within the machine itself.
Now that I have a new full cylinder, I guess I could splash a bit of Fairy liquid on the joints ? I used PTFE tape on all the fittings.
In the mean time, I would think getting into the habit of closing the tap when you switch off the welder is a good thing.
:-)
