Hi all
I am posting here as I am after some advice on what technique to use to repair two machine buckets for a friend.
One of the buckets has a few splits in it and the other needs a new bottom fitting. Ive not yet seen them but my friend tells me they are around 1.5ton each so fairly big buggers and one is on site in Sheffield somewhere.
Do I need a certain wire to repair the splits and should I use hardox or something similar to replace the bottom of the other one? One welder I know just uses normal carbon steel to replace sections for one of his customers but id like to know if this is correct or should it be repaired another way.
Also, what % gas should I look at using for such jobs?
Thanks
Dean
