i was shortening my ally sump from a ford zetec engine so it would fit my kitcar and i had a bit of trouble and i have had this once befor but not sure what it is
when weld pool forms (yes in ac and clean as a wistle no drafts and good pure argon flow) the arc gets a bit popy and tiny bubles seem to come out of weld pool and if i keep the weld pool still it seems to clean up as long as im not melting fresh metal its ok also get a black scale floating to top of pool
had this trouble once before welding some forged ng6 i thort it was zinc in the alloy could not get a good bond would brake under stress at edge of the weld but the metal is solid when cut
its just tricky to get a nice weld and keep the tunsten clean more power makes it worse as im geting a bigger weld pool and have tryed all sorts of ballance settings but im gussing its just somthing bad material
any ideas pro's
