Brushing Lechlar Epoxy?

Hi guys, coming up to finishing the welding on my Mk3 Capri project and I'm wanting to get my inner arches primed, sealed and stonechipped before I weld the wings back on so...

Can I brush Lechlar epoxy? I don't really have the facilities to be spraying and I'm doing everything on my driveway so not the best but I wanna use the best stuff I can before overcoating it with Gravitex.

Opinions much appreciated!

Yes or roller it, just add a little extra thinner

Awesome I'll invest in a litre to do that then, when using it does it have be on bare metal or can it overpaint old paint? Reason being is I was going to get some for when I find a painter, to use on the body but dont really fancy going bare metal?

Thanks looks like I can get away with just getting a really good key on the paint then, well... the bodyshop can I'm not touching the paint!

Looking at a thread on here, would Jotamastic 87 be a better option for me to brush/roller? Also Non ISO so would be safer to use on the driveway I guess?

Is it as good/better than lechler for protection properties? Certainly a little bit cheaper!

Lechler epoxy brushes fine. I would not add thinner, that's only needed when spraying.

Lechlar epoxy rollers and brushes fine, just add a little extra thinner to stop it dragging.
Out of the 2 types of epoxy the Lechlar gives a far better finish in my opinion.

Bought some jotamastic 90 locally from ebay for next to nothing but realised after it came with no thinners! I got the epoxy and the comp b stuff so what hardener can I use? Can I just get a cheap one off the internet or do I have to buy the jotun stuff?

You need to use epoxy thinners, think it's Jotun number 17.

Good luck with the Jotamastic 90, you will certainly need the thinners with that...

So I couldnt use a generic 2k epoxy thinner? Only place I cans eem to get jotun from is online and the postage makes it cost about 3 times more than I paid for 5L of paint lol

I tried to buy epoxy thinners in the local auto paint suppliers and they said in 25 years they had never stocked it and everyone used normal cellulose thinners. They even checked it on the computer and they said it was compatable with the epoxy.

Epoxy thinners is definitely different to cellulose and 2k thinners. Up to you!!!

You can use 2K thinner but it's not right, I know people that have got away with using gun wash even !!! Funnily enough both had paint problems later

Sacked off the Jotamastic, sold it on and bought 2.5L of lechlar and all the relevant thinner/hardeners from my local paint suppliers.

Decided by the time I pay all that out on the Jotun stuff and not really being able to use it on the top half of the car I may aswell get the proper stuff. Sometimes cheap really is too good to be true!!
