Brushcutter/Strimmer advice

I inherited both, plus a sickle + bill hook from my g/grandad. he was a gardener at hardwood house after he retired from the pit.

Hopefully good news for you, but what seems to be the exact same unit is available on Amazon for around £100.

I bought one of these three years ago and use it every couple of weeks in the summer for 3-4 hours of cutting back gorse and brambles. I use it with the supplied brush cutter blade rather than the strimmer and it's been absolutely fantastic. Well worth the money.

I have a hyundai one looks exactly the same as that, except blue, worked great with either strimmer or brush cutter blsde till the carb stopped sucking fuel from the tank. Little diaphram thing, my son in law has it now.

Thanks guys, I will look into hiring a professional bit of kit.

Not sure about using chemicals, they may not like it....

Am I better just pruning back the brambles first and digging them out with the roots?

only realy if you like hard work

when doing the small weeding in the back garden all i do is spray late in the afternoon watch the dog on the last trip to the garden and then in the morning dont worry shes never been bad and dont seam to take any notice if the weeds have been sprayed animals arnt as daft as we think they are most lighty the danger is if the cats/dogs pass by it after spraying and gets on there coats then they wash them selves with there tounge

if it helps i got a fs44 sthil strimmer and cut back that type brush earler this year for a mate and took only 30mins or less to put the standard strimmer with heavy wire in it the size i done was 3mx4m only thing is not to attack it to hard inch by inch and wide swing if its high cut half way up and then cut the bottem

Its a 4 stroke, no mix
