We bought the makita 9" double 18v battery one and used it in anger on a time sensitive demolition job yesterday. It paid for itself within 3 hours, we reckon.
When time really is money you don't have time to be faffing with cables and tripping over them etc... plus it has a really nice safety feature that if it snags, it cuts power... it's annoying at first but you really appreciate it if you're leaning out in a precarious position and really don't want any kickback!
The 4.5" and 5" versions are always handy, especially on a farm for cutting/buffing on repair jobs.
