Brook Gryphon motor terminals thread

I am rewiring the 0.33 HP Brook Gryphon motor on my lathe. I can't find nuts that fit the terminals of the motor. A 2BA nuts screws on, but fails to grip tight enough (i.e. it keeps slipping a thread when you try to tighten it up). What thread are these likely to be? It must be just a shade smaller than 2BA.

    Thank you - Rowan

    3BA?

    4BA was the standard size.

How old is it how does it compare to m4, I am sure at one point brook went with an oddball thread have had a few that took me ages to find something that felt a good fit.
Normally BA but definitely not always BA.

3BA comes to mind if it is a old motor.

Anything made in the past 20 years uses metric nuts, commonly M4 or M5.
