Broken Trigger

Hello to all who can hopefully help me, my Mig welder (butler 150,amp) trigger has just stopped working and i don`t know how to sort it out. Took it apart and the two wires that go to the trigger i have cleaned and the little round brass ring seems to be ok. Could anyone tell me what voltage should i be getting at the trigger and how do i sort out the trigger to make it work please help me Thankyou

Welcome Marcos668. If your welder has a Euro type tourch then remove it from the welder and with a short length of wire (and the welder turned ON) short across the two small holes (where the pins of you tourch go) this will mimic the operation of the trigger. If the welder operates ie feed motor operates and you can hear the contactor clonk then you have a fault with your tourch. If nothing operates then fault is in welder. If in welder check for a small fuse that maybe mounted to the outside of machine, usually a push and twist type fuse holder. If there is no external fuse then POWER OFF welder and check inside for a fuse, maybe mounted on pcb. Will need pics of inside machine to guide you.
