Broken toilet seat

Hi All
Googled into here as my toilet seat broke so i decided to try and weld it, but i don't know how to weld, then i found this site and i still don't know how to weld but i did find a link to a college that has tig courses starting in Febuary. Always wanted to weld as like plastering i think of it as an art as apposed to most trades that you could have a bash at without much knowledge. Anyway hope to learn some stuff of you guys.

Ahhh, Livingston...............the land of roundabouts and in particular the Lizzy Bryce roundabout. Used to do some contracting work through there for some of the electronics factories, Jabil is one of them. Miss some of the burger vans through there actually :-( Will have to make a visit soon.

I think Putbinoot means the hinge of the seat lads , i would have thought it cheaper to buy a new seat ! Hinge could be stainless steel or Aluminium or brass, if your gonna learn first , you wont be able to sit on the pan for a while !

Bit of a bummer that !

you guys are good, yes top marks to those who thought it was the hinge and i think it's stainless, just needs a couple of tacs to hold the arm back in the cup. Looking into trying to get a new one but as it was bought from B&Qrap not holding out much luck although will keep looking. The course is back in my old town of Edinburgh at telford college, anybody on here been there i wonder. All this time iv'e been trying to think of a bog joke but think you guy have pulled my chain enough.

I suspect it could be a member here (Runnach) thats is teaching the course,although knowing Telford college its probably a cleaner as its cheaper
