All very well the phone working if there is a power outage but who will you phone if nobody else has a phone that works.We just had openreach install fiber into the house and are with BT on 150Mb for about £25 a month.
The Mrs wanted to keep the landline so I had them install a new hybrid cable with fibre and cooper.
They don't want to maintain the copper network so are always trying to get you to go fibre only and it took months of calls to get it installed the way we agreed with them, and then to finally get the landline working over the copper.
She wanted the phone on copper because if there is a power outage, the mobile masts will probably be down as well but the landline will still work (if you have a basic phone) as it's powered over the lines.
All very well the phone working if there is a power outage but who will you phone if nobody else has a phone that works.
