As you may be aware British federal used to (and have restarted) make the best spowelding equipment around bar none, does anyone remember the British Federal MIg welder? i have one, 250 amp i think, in the garage, maybe going to dig it out and clean it up and try it, i remember they were fantastic to use as good as any, but they made or sourced everything locally, and even made their own transformers and stuff, alas they could not compete with cheaper machines. Anyway, if anyone has one i'd be interested in purchasing!!
For the record i worked, for a while, at Brit Fed making the sheetmetal enclosures they used on their robotic spotwelding lines.
£11.00 per hour in 1991, not bad jobs at all and superb company to work for.
