Britool hex drive

Just been given a bucket full of old tools mainly sockets & spanners.

Anyway among it is (what appears to be) the sliding bit from a T bar with an 11/16 hex drive socket attached

Seem to recall a thread about these a few months back.

It's no use to me - is it any use to anyone else?

Also there's what appears to be a set of funny looking taps - made by draper, anyone advise what they are? Just curious really

there easy out stud extractas.drill a hole in broken stud and insert them there left handed thread and should come out

Ah, makes perfect sense now.

they'll come in handy. I'll put them somewhere safe. I was ratching through everything and saw the tap handles... Thankyou brightspark.

Should indeed, in my experience they aren't all that useful, they do get a grip but not a huge amount, and the bolt/screw woudlnt have snapped in the first place if just a small amount of force was needed.

if the studs have been sheared and not coroded in they work fine . some u win some u loose. i sheared all the flywheel bolts on a ford engine and used them to extract but as said

I got one stuck in a sheered wheel bolt, real pain to get it out. However good for removing snapped grease nipples which is why I bought them.
