While I'm painting, planned for today, but the rain has other ideas, I need to get the window surrounds sorted.

The row of holes were the hood rivets were is slightly wider than the flange of the window, so the window is never going to seal against the steel.

A spacer is required, ideally something rust proof. I've found some plastic board stuff in the pile of junk, which will be ideal.

When the rain stops I'll paint this as well. Tiger seal will makes it all work.

No. No, it does not.

Mind you, if a 125 HST power car and a bunker full of fuel was to appear, I'd consider investing in some rails.

I had a go at making panels/caps for the end of the roof yesterday, but it was a disaster, so stomped off in a huff.

Roof end cappings. Going much better this time, I think the black dogs were between me and competence last time.

I'll screw these in, and seal in with puraflex 40. Then on with the gutters.

The window is solid, it didn't, to my surprise, fall out when I removed the clamps.

I've popped the insert in. So that's fine, and looks good. Hopefully water tight for a few decades.....

I can't say what the next job is as @sako243 will want to involve Liebherr or Palfinger, or some other exciting excessive large object moving toy.

But I intend to do that job tomorrow.

if you fit upright woods at either side of the window you can then fasten the window either side to the new woods and also any internal covering that you want also choose the wood size to match with your insulation as well

That's certainly something I'm thinking of doing, but I might just squirt a load more of the pu adhesive into the gap between the frame and the aperture. Once set, it's as good as a mechanical fixing I think. Then I can use insulated plasterboard direct as insulation and finish in one, no wood. Bolt through the bash panels to the outside to fix. Simple.

The Hi-Lift is a very useful tool. Ive straightened fence posts and pulled out small trees and bushes with mine. Only once was it used to jack up my Land Rover
