Per the title - anyone got one ?

It’s a little CD storage device - rips them in at supposedly lossless format then plays via a range of outputs. I’ve got it running through my Hi Fi at the moment - through some RCAs at the moment but expecting a DAC to be delivered this week coming.

Also connects to Sonos - so we’ve set one of them up in the kitchen. You can have dozens of Sonos zones apparently.

So far I’m pretty impressed. The interface can be a little slow at times but it’s got great sound quality and I’m hearing CDs I haven’t played for years (probably decades !!)

its a pc with an audio ripper free or paid for free that is

winamp is still my goto and a dvd disk reader

note cd ripping isnt allowed in the uk so the less said the better

I didn’t think it was that bad ? But to be fair the points I get with wifey for being able to put all the CDs away from the lounge is worth 10x as much

I fancied one a few years ago but agin I saw the price and decided not to.Recently I saw they had a newer version but still too pricey.

An update to UK copyright law means that from 1 June 2014 it will no longer be illegal to make copies of CDs -- or ebooks or any other media -- that you have bought for personal use

I’d love the opinion of a lawyer. My interpretation is you can as long as you are not listening on multiple devices at the same time. One of those debates that for as many google searches say yes as many will say no !

I was only just looking at these on Ebay afew days ago. Not cheap, even second hand. I'm using ipods and tablets for my music with Blue tooth speakers .My car and van audio systems read .mp3 files so that's all I use. My music is transfered to SD card's etc. I use Ashshampoo Burning Studio to rip my CD's or ones I borrow. I like the idea of being able to stream video's and music to devices from a storage device. A network storage device full of music and video's and wirelessly stream to a TV .etc. I bought a device many years ago for this and never used it . I have just brought it out of mothballs to experiment with. It's a Philips Media Box. It will link to a pc/laptop or server and play music and video's to a TV. It has a USB port that will play photo's, video's and music from a flash drive too. It does not link to Philips server like it did, Philips abandened the idea but it's still a good cheap box.

its the transfer from record or tape or even cds to digital that makes them illegal as your changing the original format from what it was paid for

most people i know of used to record the music off the radio or make copys via a twin deck or record deck makes no difference near on everyone did it

but its the change from its original format to digital and have it near the internet thats the issue

itunes can litrally remove that copy of yours from the selection and it maybe the same with others once they get caught wth the uks copyright

note here i dont know of anyone that has been charged with or even taken to court to do with transfer to digital only when it was uploaded to the internet where it bacomes an issue or was being sold as original but was a copy

my personal opinion here i own it i intend to change its format from its original format to digital to enjoy it myself on what ever i want to play it upon
good luck on finding me as im not stupid enough to have it near the internet

I have now deleted all my .mp3 collection , so from now on I will only be playing my 78rpm records on my radiogram :-)
