I got mine from mole valley farmers in Frome a while ago, I got the Lincoln Electric ones there too more recently, they seem to sell those now rather than the white box ones. regarding the AWS writing, I'm assuming you mean just the printing on the rod in which case it's black. The coating is a pale grey/beige one, I'd like to say 'normal' colour but I also have some that have an orangey red coating.

Just borrowing it wozz, brings me an air of Bohemian elegance, don't cha think, I have a feeling they could be Lincoln Rods as well (Italian), They used to churn out all the BOC white box jobblys, untel they changed to having them made in the "C" word........They used to weld nicely once got a deal on em for £9 a carton £3 a box, as I was buying so many at the time......
I'm only guessing here I'm sure T/A can tell you the guys name who made em.......

Esab, no, sorry, Murex - do decent white box made in Eastern Europe 6013's, which I use sometimes. But me, I LURVE the vodex.
Btw, I was asked to do some stick the other day where all that was available were Clarke 2.5s. Really sludgy, messy, fluid flux, could barely see the weldpool, far too much slag inclusion (I blame the rods, obviously)

ive got some white box 2.5mm here not the same as the pictures though, have found them inconsistant, use one on a long run great, next one full of slag inclusions grind out redo great, next great, next slag inclusions. no change of position, cleanliness, amps, nothing. one rods good the next crap. could be me but ive never had the problem before. only a couple left so sod it. all kept in sealed rod gaurds. cheap £10 a 5kg box.

I reckon the ones Mart and myself have could well be Oerlikon, I did find a pic of an Oerlikon box and the style of writing and the label/barcode was very similar. Someone did say they do a white box rod. I did find the exact ones I've got for sale online but I stuplidly didn't bookmark the link.

Ah, found them, extra abuse averted!
I did actually bookmark that site after all but when I looked on it I couldn't find those rods as they're under 'special offers' not 'manual metal arc' - 'electrodes' so I didn't think it was the right site
