The difference is in the build quality and features built into the machine and if you are going to be doing commercial work or if you have the money spare it will be worth looking at the top end machines. You are looking at the difference between £1000 and £3000+ for new machines so money is the big factor here. Lincoln and Thermal Arc are up there as well.

I use 2 tigs, a Parweld 200 ac/dc at home and a miller syncrowave 350, the Parweld is a great little machine equally on par with my mates R-tec but when you use the Miller the difference is obvious !!!
Something you would expect when you consider the difference in price is probably 5 grand !!!

Hi guys can you help me with purchase of ac dc tig I have few options RTECH 200AC DC ;ESAB Caddy TIG 2200i AC/DC Pulse ;EWM Tetrix 230AC/DC TIG Welder, which is the best machine. I'm leaning towards EWM TETRIX 230 as presumably the best build quality and the most features .

Fantastic little set, well suited to commercial / industrial use.
Another nice piece of kit, although probably better suited to situations where your livelihood doesn't depend on it.
I own and use both regularly. The difference in weld quality is marginal, at best. The Caddy is 'nicer' to use. If you've used them back-to-back, you'll know what I mean.

As previously said budget is really important in this hunting business mate.
EWM is a really respectable German Brand.
Well really speaking you cannot compare an R-Tech machine with a machine from these brands Mate you have in your list.
There are reasons.
Now as beginner R_TECH is something good with a lot of support and all this with the 1/3 of the price.
ESAB 2200i is what I really like from the 3.
If I was able to purchase a new tig welder I will go for a Kemmpi myself.
My advice is thinking about your budget what you looking for and remember you always could upgrade your kit.
I see the welder like the PCs nowdays

Well seriously speaking to be a professional in this business it will take some time.Till then everything will have change!
If was you I will go for the R-Tech learn and then upgrade.Not sure why you need the AC?
Are you going to weld Aluminium?
You have to stay and think what you intent to do with the kit.
Well not know if you want to spend this money but my advice is to buy something and learn first.
I am not professional myself but a lot o people here have take proper college lessons to do this kind of stuff.
It is not just to buy a welder.
Sorry not want to put you down but it is a serious investment here for someone that want to learn sound a little bit
Add a proper helmet in your budget!
