The clutch slave exploded on my MG Midget. Ive replaced as necessary but what are your views on fluid. Standard or synthetic. Compatible with older systems? Compatible by mixing? etc etc.

Hi, If you're just changing the slave cylinder, a false economy IMHO because it won't be long before you will be doing the master, Use DOT 4. DOT 5 is silicon based and should only be used in a clean dry new system because it doesn't mix.
Thanks all. 4 or 5.1 then it would appear. Ive replaced the whole clutch hydro system so there would be no cross contamination but ill assume it was and still is a system designed for non synthetic.
