With all this talk of space, I'm feeling quite impoverished with a lowly 14 x 10 shed.

As they say, it's not the size which matters, but what you do with it which counts.

Is that MFC edging left over from days fitting kitchens and such ?

That space is not full yet, I can see the ceiling.
Some nice and deep racking, on castors, would free up a little more space.

possibly, originally.

it's actually left over from when I put a cheeky £1.00 bid on what I thought was a banana box of 15mm edging, but when I went to collect turned out to be a pallet box of rolls of 50mm-100mm veneer.

I gave away a land rover full last year, still have about 20 or 30 rolls left.

Yes.

All of the above. It's a road traffic network problem, that involves being able to choose from any number of possible routes within the constraint of having to use a "road" or conduit.

It is amazing how even the simplest of problems can be fantastically complicated. The biggest sofa that can squeeze around a corner is a good one. But for road networks, even a moments thoight tells you a dead straight line between two points is never optimal. If you have ever been stuck behind a lorry you'll appreciate that.

Whenever the road CCTV cameras pick up congestion, the traffic sign operators should raise the speed limit, not reduce it, in order to get the increased traffic volume past a given point more quickly. The present policy just introduces a positive feedback effect, leading to bunching, further slowing, and the caterpillar movement.

No one defined the size. I agree you only need one shed, more than that means you have internal walls in your storage space

Traffic doesn't flow like a liquid. Each element is a rational (!) human being making choices as rtcosic suggests, quickest, shortest, most picturesque etc. What is amazing is that a slime mould can create a solution to a road network problem that very closely mimics how our road networks have actually developed.

"Mimics" is probably a poor choice of words. "Better" would be more accurate!
