My M300 has a standard 8inch / 200mm 4 jaw. No point in putting anything bigger on, as if the jaws on a larger chick were wound out to grip a much bigger workpiece, the jaws would smack the bed! Thats what the faceplate is for.
Thanks for the advice, i went with a 200mm 3 jaw & its running great, no difference in startup speed or a increase in Amps on the VFD, its 12kg but the lathe doesnt even know its on there, it has the 1.9Kw motor on on & its great to have the added chuck capacity
