bought another lathe ml7 with homemade gearbox

ive now got the lathe home today so will take pics as soon as can be the cogs look fine but the lathe bed needs some work and im not to sure of the workings at the moment though i do expect some work on it

anyway there was some more stuff there i cant buy them but said id post pics up of them
first off a cnc pillar drill i think the motor is 240v 1425rpm i am aware that this item is being sold around 450.00 at moment please note i havent tested these items or powered them up shed is dry but left to rust a little in my eyes

the area the items are in is newcastle hexham area



also an ajax metal saw 240v 1240rpm

ive had a look at this its a 1952 lathe with k stamp still on it at the rear of the machine brought some more stuff back as well and still going through it all as of yet
there is some parts missing however there is other stuff that is included with the purchase of the item

ive got no idea what this is



extra stuff i got light as well and some more motors 240v 1400 or around that rpm area


this also comes with 2 oil pumps

id also like to ask if anyone would like a seperate post of the gearbox and if its ok with admins to do this

the gearbox is a 13 cog system from 20 - 95 this was found in a framed illustration with alot more info included in the frame

Looks like a super spacer type indexer. You pull the lever and turn the table until it locks to index at different positions.

That blue motor at the back of the picture, would you sell it? I spy, with my big beady eye, a Procon pump.
The other thing is some kind of 2 axis tilting table for milling or drilling. Would be excellent if you need to mill things not square.

this wood table came with it and its heavy i can though smell the oil upon it is it worth using or not

That brass thing in the motor. It's a positive diaplacement rotary vane pump, basically the holy grail for welding water coolers.

The milling machine is as Pete says a jig borer. A friend of mine has a larger version also made by Societe Genevoise and the engineering and build quality would shame a rolls royce.

I'd like to see a pist with more details on the Myford gearbox also.

3 items in a box look like fly cutters
1 x dairylee shape item is a non dial vertdict indicator, graduated in thou's by the looks?
the other item looks like custom vernier gauge of some sort, similar to a gear vernier, so might have been used in a factory making gearsets???

as i have the gearbox here http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/myford-ml7-homemade-gearbox.56156/ for the lathe im somewhat a little reluctant to take it apart on my own probably because i have the attitude if it works leave it alone

now i know im going to need thee cog sizes for everyone else to use the last 3 cogs hows best to get this info for others

if need be im willing to take it apart just to get the final info needed however im not so sure how to do this so a massive learning curve here though i need to get to the lathe in the first place as i kinda wrecked the shed to get it where i want it

If there are any changewheels that you're unsure as to what size they are, mark one of the teeth with a marker and count the teeth from there until you reach the marker again. Easier than dismantling to see what number is cast onto the changewheel.

sorry to bring this back up guys

been going through stuff since im rebuilding this lath back up now lathe is in situe stood on oak blocks with suds collector underneath

but what bolts are best used for the bed to fasten it down to the top as the system wasnt fastened down when we got there to pick it up and im not sure if the nuts are missing on the crossbed holder for turning piece
