bought a makita grinder from the States, different thread pattern?

I would be very surprised if a cordless will run a wire wheel without it tripping all the time. They are brilliant when you have no electric but next to useless compared to a corded one for power. I only use thin cutting discs in mine (28volt Milwaukee) and wouldn't entertain a wire wheel on it

mines used for cutting and chamfering soil pipe and using a diamond wheel to cut porcelain tile for which its great - a diamond cup used to surface concrete had the batteries flat in a couple of minutes

sorry to dig up an old old thread, but i have come across something the battery grinders are very good for.
Since they are less powerful they are less stressful to use - calmer, which makes them perfect for drawing pilot lines for the 9 inch grinder.
