Hi, been follwing the forum for a while and found it useful, thought it was time I contributed.
I am looking at MIG welders in the £250 bracket, most of these are at the botton end of what most supplies term 'professional' and as such have a regulator and carrier for large bottle. I would like to have the option of using either small disposable bottles or the larger bottles, this makes it much cheaper if I decide to use a different gas for small job. With the smaller MIGS there are conversion kits which make converting to bigger bottles easy. I there such a kit for going the other way ?. I talked to one guy who suggested it might be problematic as the disposable regulator might not be able to keep up with the flow required by the bigger MIG unit. I cant really see this as I would have thought the flowrate required would be much the same for big and small welds.
Any thoughts ?
