You could use an injection pump and use a filter king which is as said a filter but has a built in fuel pressure reg http://www.dellorto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Filter-King-Instructions.pdf that could be belt and braces to regulate the flow because you would still need a fuel rail reg in the line to return fuel to tank. IMO a injection pump is way over the top flow wise and will just waste power if you have a limited charging system or as some dont have a charging system.

But still use a filter king.

I used to run Mercury XR2 motors (200hp) on my Rings/phantoms ect Andy and always used this type of pump to feed my bank of carbs. Very reliable and they do deliver the stated LPH with no fuss.Heres a pic of a generic type and they all do the same job,well up to the job for your ski.

Its a tigershark 770. I should add, when its out of water it will rev up cleanly, but of course without the drag it idles much higher to start with.

my 80hp outboard would rev and idle same in or out of water, years ago bought a little outboard that ran fine, until I put it in water and it wouldn't start at all it was only a single cylinder, the head gasket was at fault, so the point of my post is have you done a compression test could be worth checking

Yeah, in short. I have completely stripped and rebuilt the engine. Not because of any problem particularly, but when I bought the ski it had been stood a while and I wanted to do a proper job. There's a thread on it on here somewhere.

Ok, have ordered two genuine mikuni rebuild kits and a 35l/h pulse driven fuel pump from Allens.
Have found a set of bn38i with accel pumps, but they are in the land of the free, and he won't post them to UK because eBay won't let him. Vexing.
