My Border Collie has been hiding under my desk since I got home, she's terrified of them .
Its like Beirut round here........never stopped since it went dark
Its usually bad but I didnt expect it this year....dont know why to be honest
Theres fireworks going off regularly round these parts....its a very lively area where I live.....Loads of bars and restaurantsNot heard a single firework in the village tonight, quiet as the grave.
I used to have a collie, found a litter of pups in a box in a ditch and she was the only one still alive. I had to hand rear her. But she was exceptionally intelligent and could be very nervous. She hated fireworks.
normally the wind is south westerly round our house and the farm over the road rents the field out to horse folk they light the old straw in a pile and stink my house out 3 times ive warned her but shese not bothered . anyhow one day the wind was blowing her way so I put some paraffin and paper in to a wagon tire and set fire to it on my back field god ive seen nothing like it you couldn't see her house for black smoke it went on for 25 minutes and well stunk her out . surprised I didn't get reported . the only good thing in life when u get old is look back at some of the stunts and things you have done and smileIn the "olden" days .
Bonfire night was always good for "recycling" tyres
It's something that gets to me every year.. I really dont see the point in them.
They were likely very safe and a family thing 30 years ago. The muppets of my generation (27) and younger cant be trusted with them. I have family/friends with PTSD who struggle with them. The animals that I deal with at work struggle with them.. especially the intelligent breeds like collies. we had people setting off fireworks at work while we were trying to deal with a seizuring dog tonight, while another was crashing.. member of staff got bitten because some muppet in a house a few doors from the practice let off a firework in central London while we were taking bloods.
I appreciate the desire to watch them, not my thing but I dont want to deprive other people. Go to an organised event and see a proper display, rather than letting a few off in your garden and letting the crap rain down on roads, pedestrians and peoples property.
Cant understand why it is legal to sell anyone over the age of 18 explosives.. let alone anyone who walks through the door.
Sorry for being a grumpy sod
You can get them next day delivery online...They are illegal over here, but no one seems to have any difficulty getting the bloody things. In this day and age when there are all sorts of complete nutters looking to kill people, that they are still for sale in the UK ? Surely if you went out and bought thousands of bangers or rockets, you have a good basis for a bomb ?
50% off yet still priced at £180 for 12 . Some folk clearly have more money than sense. You can get them next day delivery online...
Quick 3 second Google turned up this..

Imagine you could do some damage with them but if you were hell bent on that sort of thing there are cheaper ways to do it..
