Boiler problems

As usual this time of year, you go to turn on the heating and nothing happens.

We have a Worcester greenstar 35cdi combi controlled by hive with a strange problem.

The hive system seems to be working perfectly, two green lights on the receiver, 230v to Ls and Lr in the boiler terminal.

Boiler will fire when put in test (man with hat and ladder) for around ten minutes, rads getting up to temp quickly.

It seems although the demand is being requested by the thermostat and receiver, the boiler isn't acknowledging that demand.

Short of stripping the whole front panel and replacing the PCB has anyone got any ideas from experience? I can't even link from the mains input on the terminal to the switched live because the problem seems to be after that, but before anything stopping the boiler from firing.

Are there any lights on the boiler itself, constant or flashing?

It's as normal, blue light is lit, readout is reading the temp as normal and pilot light is on when it's firing.

Hot water is absolutely fine and pressure is good, around 1.5 bar and rads are all bled.

I should add, when we turned it off in the spring it had worked perfectly with hive all winter.

I thought they came up with a fault code? disconnect the Hive and link it out to test to be sure its not that

You mean link the live to switched live? Done that and nothing at all

Id think there must be a 240v relay on the pcb that initiates the burner firing sequence. If there's no error codes or faults coming up I'd think it's possibly relay coil gone or that relay sticking? Other than that possibly can do a factory reset on controls?

The gas valve will be controlled by a relay. I've come across a lot of dry joints on relays over the years.

This is the pcb, I'm rubbish with anything other than basic electrical stuff. Any pointers?

The green terminal bottom right is where the hive receiver and mains input are connected

The rectangular thing next to the green terminal strip looks like it could be a relay.

Yep, will have a poke around

If you had a meter I'd check between switched live and neutral on terminal strip and see if continuity if OK I'd then trace on pcb to relay and check solder connections ok

Do you have any Zone valves on your system? are they working correctly?

If its all firing up in the test sequence I cant see its going to be the PCB, I think these are hot water priority so its not waiting for the little DHW heat store to get up to temperature is it?

I thought it was a combi boiler? Instant hot water, not stored in a cylinder? but agree, tend to think it not a pcb issue...unless a dodgy relay.
