Boiler just packed up help

Boiler man supposed to come today. Now morning gggrrr.
He reckons the pump.

try wacking the pump, often just some sh1t jamming it up,

The diverter valve is easy fix ither the plungers stuck in which case you need this


Or the acuators gone in which case youll need this



You should have lever on the side of the actuator you can slip up into the tap water position, norally it moves up and down when the hot water tap is opened

It's always the diverter valve on my Vaillant combi. I got fed up with £100 exchanges so learnt to service them.

Well done. I dunno how different that dv maybe to a Baxi one, I tried stripping/cleaning mine but it still didn't work. Going by other forums etc, others say it's hit and miss so just end up replacing the whole unit more often than not.

Well we now have heat and hot water. Circulating pump had packed up. Oil pump was also leaking so he changed that as well. Considering the boiler is about 15 to 20 years old it has done well. Glad I don't get the bill.
