Cheers Gary, if it's working well for both sides i guess oxy acetylene is the next one on the list? Assuming you've got enough cylinders in circulation i reckon you'd very well with a similar scheme for a flamepak 50... more useful size than the rent free options so would likely steal some business from Air Liquide/Albee etc

I'm very tempted to get the Argoshield offer, but I'm currently more interested in oxy acet, though finding the best deal is a bit of a headache.
BOC, I'm sure you'll read this - are there any plans/would you consider doing a decent deal for oxy acet for the small user?
There will be many others out there who aren't close to a rent free outlet or who will go through a bit much - these places aren't cheap on the refills - and with the existing network of BOC agents there could be an excellent opportunity currently being wasted.

I wouldn't necessarily count on it. With the best will in the world, Gary (to whom we're grateful for coming on the forum) probably has a lot bigger sales-fish to fry than us hobbyists.
He very kindly/bravely posted his phone number so I'd give him a call and ask about oxy. Be sure to let us know what the response is

I haven't checked the full details, but I would guess that the 0800 Freephone number would be 'live' well outside normal business hours. What do you have to lose by giving it a go as late as 8:00 pm?

Well I asked about getting an offer on Oxy/Acet:

'Is there any possibility of a reduced price for the low volume user of Oxygen and Acetylene? I would think that there will be many others who struggle to justify paying the full rental costs of both cylinders but who would rather avoid the rent free options. The rent free options are very expensive to refill and Acetylene isn’t available from every supplier. As well as this carriage charges soon add up for those who aren’t close to one of the few outlets, and waiting in for couriers isn’t always convenient. With the existing network of BOC distributors this could be very popular.'

The response:
'At present it is only available on the Argon/Argoshield and i don't think there will be any plans to extend it to oxy/acetylene in the near future if i am truthful.'

I'm thankful for the honest reply but sorry to hear that there isn't a great deal of hope.
