BOC price increase

Had a notification this morning that BOC are increasing their gas prices yet again. I didn't have time to read it all, but if I get the chance this evening I will scan in the charges sheet and post it.

Got one this morning, refill's up about £2. But bottle rental up £4/year..Don't know how they relate that to energy prices.

Seems everybody's using the cost of energy to force prices up artificially. I agree Wyn, I don't see how energy prices can affect rental :full

No I didn't. In the end I was able to borrow one for that particular job, and to be honest I haven't need one since so probably won't bother.
If I do decide that I need something in the future, I may well splash out on a decent 6Kva or so Genny and a compatible inverter separately.

I'd look elsewhere if I didnt have erm quite a few BOC cylinders 'spare' for 2 bottle shuffles.
Saves me a pretty penny on rent.
I too got BOC's sob story in the form of a long letter and revised price list. At least it wasn't an invoice.

On a slightly different but related note my AP center have just stopped being an AP center. When I asked why I was told it simply wasn't worth their while. I then nipped off to my next nearest AP and related the story to be told that they were considering giving it up too! Apparently for the room it takes up they could make more from other things than they get from the commission. He also said that of the thirty quid AP charge for delivery, they get six! I don't reckon they need feeling sorry for!

I also discovered that the daily rent on bottles increases after 3 months which definitely as not explained to me when I took out the contract! All in all AP arenot flavour of the month in my book.

HI,

I looked around for a cheaper supplier, checked Energas, and an outfit in Scunthorpe called Mariner Gas but there's not much difference in prices TBH. In fact Energas quoted more than BOC for rental!

About the only advantage I could see was that both of these other sites are open on a Saturday morning for my annual refill...

I did find a place near Chesterfield (a couple of miles off the M1) earlier this year but it'd be a 80 mile round-trip to refill!

Looks like I'll be staying with BOC :-(

got me boc revised prices in tae` a new surcharge to recover some of the increased energy costs` 47p per large cylinder 39p per small cylinder` sods forgot to put the full price schedule in rentals due for renewal soon
