Hi there have a BOC bottle size x good bottle i can get it filled no prob but the spindle broke on it this is easy to replace if i can get one off a old bottle, anyone help me
Don't attempt to sort it yourself.
The bottles are not filled.....they are exchanged by BOC. It needs to be marked up that it is faulty and returned to them to sort out.
Good advice, don't try and sort it yourself. Just take it back to BOC and they will take it off you, send you on your way without your nice cylinder and without a replacement coz I'm guessing you don't have an account, yes?
But I presume you live in the real world where cylinders often 'go astray'.As a starting point take it back to the people that fill it and ask their help. Is it a fire extinguisher company that does industrial stuff, ships etc? If so it's routine work for them. You probably could'nt do it yourself anyway, you need a VERY big specialist vice to hold the cylinder and a big spanner and a big torque wrench and some knowledge of the dangers. Don't ask me how I know all this but I do.
If this does'nt work go legit, expensive but easy!
Again, it needs to be dealt with by BOC. The gas inside it is at 230 bar which has the potential to cause serious injury.
Either take it back to whoever you are getting them off, and get them to send it back to BOC, or if you are the account holder, take it back to BOC yourself.
As others have said, gas cylinders are not to be messed around with, take a look at this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lw_fhNAIQc
Then take the cylinder back to the supplier.
