If the bottle is not on your rental then don't take it anywhere near a BOC depot except to claim you found it in a lockup you just bought or something and you want to return it to it's owner.
If it's on your rental then yes just turn up at any BOC depot or supplier and exchange it. They'll bill your account.
If you don't have a bottle on rental BOC won't help you except to rent you a bottle.

I don't have a rental on it I originally bought it from a guy on Facebook and he let you return it and exchange but I can find him anyway more might have a ride round soo if anyone would be willing to take my bottle and let me buy one of there's
They assign actual bottles to people nowadays with a barcode (not type of bottle.. the actual bottle) You can't swap your empty for your mates full one or visa versa) Even if you both have accounts on the same type of bottle.
So the "two bottle shuffle" can't be done with boc, same with AP

when you return it you wont get another bottle
instead you will have to make a contract with them first and then go collect or have one delivered to you afterwards
there is the volkzone offer on site should be still up and running
you should beable to create an account with them first and then return that bottle and start your first account with them at the same time
but im really unsure this might happen but i cant see why not
My dealings with boc have been spot on so far. Just recently opened an account on some OA. You actually get through to a human being not some automated reply system. Considering they're a huge company they made the time for the little guy "hobbyist". I've not had to setup no online logins or non of that. They setup the tarrif on the bottles via email gave me an account number. I went to the depot with the number and picked them up. Simple as that. They send an invoice. Pay it. Bloke down the depot was spot on too. Had a bit of a laugh and craic on.
As far as old bottles go. they're just happy to get them back. no questions asked. No need to make up all of that found it in a ditch carry on.

Same here, used them for many years on and off and never had an issue.
They get a bit spendy if you don't use much gas, but considering what I paid for an SGS Argon bottle a couple of months ago at a local motor factor BOC might not be too bad.
