Hi, can anyone advise me on hiring a BOC y size pure argon, I have hobby weld At the moment and always feel ripped off by the 137BAR fill pressure, can anyone give me the name and number for a BOC sales rep that will give the best deal

I looking into this a little while ago, roughly was £90 a year rental off the top of my head but fills were £60 ish or so + collection and enviromental charges!

In the end I went for the Adams trade gas size, 20ltrs and 200bar £80 for the bottle and £96 for the fills. I think it was cheaper to get the BOC or Air products simliar bottle if I used 5 of the adams in the year, thats a lot of welding

At the moment I have hobby weld argon £50 deposit 10l cylnder charge pressure is 137BAR a refill is £41.99 was just wondering if there was a better deal out there, the BOC sounds ok apart from the handling charge for collection would really hack me off

Looking for a better deal than hobby weld but don't want to go back to w size bottle, the half size bottles filled to 230 bar seen a good alternative

If you use 50 a month they might knock you a couple of quid off They are just starting to realise that the DIY market exists, Air Products are doing Integra cylinders filled with argon and built in fixed pressure regulator.

Can you give me the price of deposit and refills, curently I have 2 cylnders from hobby weld, argon and oxygen both £50 deposit a oxygen refill is 23.99 and an argon refill is 41.99 for 10L 137 bar charge pressure bigger higher pressure bottles would be better 20l 200 bar would be ideal

so far there is no volkzone style deal on the puresheild argon, but feel free to go to the topic on this furum about it and send katie from boc an email regarding it, all details are on the thread.

i have a BOC Y size pure argon bottle and tbh its lasted ages coz its such a high pressure refill

Gas price: £59.74
Environment and Energy surcharge: £1.92
Rental: £7.90 per month or £87.55 annually

Deliveries of gas are £48.85 or you can collect from a local BOC store or agent for a charge of £13.70.

All prices are excldung vat and are subject to BOC Terms and Conditions.


Im not sure where this leaves me, i might just plod on with the hobby weld, i just find it insane that there is a charge for picking the cylnder up i could handle the rest but this just seems outrageous!

Jack !
I told him about the various other deals around including the Volkszone offer but they wont budge off there fixed prices.
maybe if the forum were to join forces then things might be different.( Puts union hat on ).

Air products are eaven more expensive, iv just sent an email to BOC regarding getting a deal on the go, do likewise, there is a page gathering strenth to get a deal going

When is this likely to be announced as I'm looking for another argon, at the moment it's going to be hobby weld but if ur going to announce soon il hold off!
