As far as i am aware it is, Don't enquire at any BOC depots, they don't seem to know about it, You have to call the BOC sales office, I believe there are details on the forum gasses section,

Also get your bottle fill on account do not pay at the agent or you will pay full retail. The day I opened my new BOC account I only asked about a hobby welder deal the guy I spoke to mentioned Volkzone deal I did not.

  8. Just been on the phone to BOC to enquire about prices for my Dad this morning and asked about the Volkszone / Hobbyist deal. The deal is still live and the prices are as follows. The number is 0800111333 and they will send out an email to organise the account then you collect from you local site.

    Argosheild Light £29.93 rental £43.70 + vat

Thanks for that Exuptoy, Im using Hobbyweld for gas, I think its quite expensive. Do you know if the rental price of 63.10 is for the year?

I'm sure this was asked before, but... why is rental of a pureshield cylinder 50% higher than what is effectively the same cylinder containing argoshield light?
They're the same pressure, aren't they?

by having the rental higher, it allows them to have the refill price lower........

great if you refill it many times a year....

but if you only use one a year then, not so good.

That and I imagine purifying argon to the point it's usable for tig etc is a lot more expensive than a mixed gas, but I might be wrong.

I think this is the case, mig works best with a partially active gas so a bit of oxygen as an impurity isn't a huge deal.

Oh yes the deal is still very much alive. But be warned DO NOT PAY THE AGENT get refills put on your account. Agents normally do not have the authority re discount. Also you will be charged the handling charge which is not charged on Volkszone deal. Just pay your invoice when due.
