Haha good idea ! Would be able to get a bit of welding practice in thenOr dare I say it. Make steel posts weld lugs on to carry timber and get them galvanised?
Looks good actually concrete and yeh good point I will prob at very least need to bore around iy enough for post to slot in rather than wood where I usually hammer or place it a bitWooden post I assume?
Its likely to be an extremely tight fit so that shouldnt matter too much. However when I replaced a friends wooden posts, I concreted met spikes into the post hole so that the timber is above ground level and shouldnt rot, and easy to replace.

Thanks and smart looking fende thereFor the slope, use 6" gravel boards. Any timber at ground level will rot. They are generally much cheaper than 12" and on a steep gradient you can cut them to save digging. Where its steepest I have 18" of board. As they have tapered edge top and bottom, turn them around and they fit nicely.
